Beauty is more about feeling beautiful in your own skin than being the cookie cutter model of what it is society deems beautiful. Its about loving yourself and who you are, not trying to look and act like someone else. After all, how could anyone ever love you if you do not love yourself and who YOU ARE.
This to me is crazy! The woman of the world are supposed to be leaders and role models for the girls entering into adulthood. But if all they ever see is how unattainable "beauty" is, they will never be satisfied with themselves, no matter how many procedures they go through. This is not the example society should be showing.
I love that you posted about this! This is something I feel strongly about. I hate hate haaate that we're told not only what to think, but who we're supposed to be. It's weird to think that in society we're always looking for the up and coming and something fresh, while we're told to be the same as everyone else, I just don't understand.

ReplyDeleteIt's so true and I think alot of people just need to let loose and love themselves for all their flaws. After all, it's our flaws that make us individuals :)
Great post. I think that as long as everyone is trying to strive to be the best of themselves that they can, the world would be alot better off. The minute everyone tries to be like everyone else, the world becomes a very fake reality. Although everyone should try to find a role model and follow their good example. Think of Abraham Lincoln, if he had tried to be like others, we possibly could still have slavery. It only takes one person to take a stand for good for something to change. But imagine if everyone took an individual stand and built off each other, what a world we could have.
